I watched “Le Misanthrope” from “COLLECTION MOLIÈRE par LA COMÉDIE-FRANÇAISE DVD-BOX {Rouge}”. This is magnificent story. It describes how a sincere and honest talent traps into misanthropy and becomes a hermit. In this case, not locking one’s frank opinion to oneself calls accuses in the world of vanities. Of course there are some people who stand for the talent, however, the world is not so easy going. Fashionable societies are full of flatteries, rumors, making fun of someone and vanities. Furthermore, the honesty during the affair of love is troublesome by any means. Even the talent seems to drown himself in the salacity similar to the other, however, he comes back. In the end, freedom seems to be lost. In both classical and modern ways the production is excellent.
