Dom Juan

I started watching through “COLLECTION MOLIÈRE par LA COMÉDIE-FRANÇAISE DVD-BOX {Blanc}”. The first play, Dom Juan was very interesting. This drama has several versions: the original one is written by Tirso de Molina around 1630, and the version of Molière was in 1665. You may know an opera of Mozart, performed in 1787. Although this drama is of a shameless aristocrat who only believed in arithmetic, which is out of date in modern view, there still remain quite a lot of common senses between the past and our age concerning one’s desires and senses of sins. Japanese people should not miss this act, regarding its resemblance to the modern Japanese society. During my watching at this drama (especially when the stone statue of dead knight was moving), turning off the light of my room, I saw my illustrations of Queen Arthur (alter) and Shiro Emiya from Fate/stay night series fluctuating. After a certain while, the very faint lighting in my room created skull-like looking of both faces of the characters. When the main character Dom Juan pretended to reform himself, the fluctuations disappeared. However, in the last scene, during that Dom Juan was burned by invisible flame from the hell, the face of not Queen Arthur but Shiro Emiya fluctuated again. The faint light produced imaginary impressions mimicking the line of story.
