Murders without murderous intent of a number of people in effective means are achieved, for example, by social ostracism which is originated in ancient Greece. If everyone does not respond properly to one by any means, e.g. psycho-passing hallucination or something like delusion that does not reflect actual conditions, one is socially exiled. If the loss of social welfare is larger than expected, mal output would come about. It is not the matter that each person involved in the ostracism does not aware so much about the deed. He or she may be revenged by the collapse of a system by such outputs, if it goes beyond the endurable extent. This is the topic extended from PSYCHO-PASS 2, in which Sibyl System began to realize a group as an individual matter whose mentality is within the scope of itself. Gaps between labelling by the system and actual state is one of the main themes in PSYCHO-PASS, through Shogo Makishima or Arata Shindo.

“狡兎死して走狗烹らる” (when the enemy is defeated, the victorious soldiers can be killed off; when the nimble rabbit dies, the hunting dog is cooked) is a Chinese anecdote of Goujian, King of Yue (越王勾践). Goujian is famous for another anecdote, “臥薪嘗胆” (going through thick and thin to attain one's objective; enduring unspeakable hardships for the sake of vengeance), when he was defeated by Fuchai, King of Wu(呉王夫差) and had had hard times since then. Goujian finally defeated Fuchai. This was mostly depended on his subordinate Fan Li (范蠡). However, Fan Li was kept at distance and was out of power. He recommended a colleague Bun Shu (文種) to be out of power by the famous letter,

 

范蠡遂去,自齊遣大夫種書曰

蜚鳥盡,良弓藏,

狡兔死,走狗烹.

 

After the leavings of Fan Li and Bun Shu, there was a fall of Yue Kingdom. Goujian is also famous for “Sword of Goujian”.
