On August the 31st 2020, I watched an animation movie “Asura”. It is a story from medieval Japanese society, when people were brutal and even ate flesh of other human when it was necessary. The story is expanded among the main character Asura, who was poisoned by emotions and was hated by most of people, Monk, who looks after Asura, and the main heroine, Wakasa. In climax, Wakasa refused to eat flesh of a horse Asura provided. She misbelieved it was from human, because she did not believe in Asura anymore. Finally she died, probably believing herself to remain faithful. However, for Asura and Monk, it was all in vain because they knew the truth. The matters of misbeliefs and accompanying nonsense are motivations for one to enter the Buddhist priesthood.
