Your Name(君の名は。)

On November the 23rd, I watched an animated movie called “Your Name(君の名は。)”. This is a sentimental movie, which finally ended up in happiness. The main characters are Mitsuha Miyamizu and Taki Tachibana, who are high school girl and boy. First of all, their lives were frequently interchanged and they lived lives of each other. However, at a certain moment, the interchangement ceased and Taki began to survey Mitsuha. The story would meet a dramatic turning point thereafter. The motif of the story is from Torikaebaya Monogatari(とりかへばや物語). This story is of girl and boy who were raised as opposite sexes in Heian period. Of course there were many troubles, however, they finally rose to the highest possible ranks as vassals of the emperor, Chugu(中宮)and Kanpaku(関白). “Your Name” itself did not trace the success story, however, the future of them is an open question. The backgrounds of the movie were very beautiful, regarding other movies directed by the director Makoto Shinkai. The relationships between Mitsuha and Taki were formed by nidana(因縁), which means causes, motivations or occasions. Usually this is not true for most cases. The sense of nidana very frequently means nothing. The idea of the relationship between quantum entanglements and time is proposed in the movie, which is still a mystery in physics. There are also some strange descriptions such as: how Mitsuha carried her grandmother for such a long distance in the mountain; or although the sunset was approaching, the town was still far away in the mountain. The story is better than I have expected, however.
