Druk

I have watched a movie called “Druk”. It is a story of four drunken guys, who tested a conjecture that states that 0.05% of alcohols in blood would results in joyful lives, by efficiencies in works and promotions of imaginations. It is also a memorial for Ida, who was a daughter of the director, inspired him for the cultures of the young, but died in a traffic accident though she was supposed to have one of the roles in the movie. This story is for all the people who have experiences of drink alcohols. One would find light and darkness of being drunken here. Of course this is a timeless and temporal theme. Socio-politically and literary-historically it is a Danish story by approaching individuality and existence from being drunken, resulting in enhancement of life and propagation of human values as such. The lighting and camera works of the movie are fine. They focus on proper objects with a sense of beauty. It is interesting that the actors actually tried various concentrations of alcohols for references of their acts, but not heavily drunken situations. When the actors were heavily drunken they did not memorize anything at all. So, they studied drunken Russians in YouTube movies. Of course, the four guys are all excellent actors. The story is nonetheless sincere, with nothing of deceiving. The structure of the story is very simple, with no complexities. It is not a movie recommended for mimicking in the pandemic of COVID-19, but still attractive to watch as a movie.

Overall, it is a story for the people who are drunken but do not want to cross a line. It was rewarded the academy award for best international feature film in 2021.
