PLUTO

I have watched a Neflix animation series “PLUTO”. It is based on a manga written by Naoki Urasawa, whose original version is from one of the famous episodes of Osamu Tezuka’s “ASTRO BOY (鉄腕アトム)”. The impression of this story is stronger in the Uraswa’s original manga compared with this animation series (thanks to the drawing ability and characteristic pauses of quotes in Urasawa’s manga). People should read the original manga, because it calls to people in the age of disturbances of wars and development of artificial intelligences. Urasawa’s manga was published from 2003 to 2009, but the theme of this story is closer to actual world nowadays. As in the original Tezuka’s manga, Urasawa tried to reconstruct development of human emotions with machine learnings of artificial intelligences. Selecting Gesicht as the main character supports this trial, resulting in severe output of the story line. The theme is similar to Urasawa’s previous manga “MONSTER”, but is more related to young adults over 13. If you feel a bit disappointed to see the seven robots of the highest performances are from Western countries, and the Persians, the Arabs or the Central Asians are looked down, you can find this impression is wrong in the final episode, in which the real culprit becomes evident. It is not a mere derivative from Iraq war or Saddam Hussein. After getting through this story, you can find something in your mind, originated in the original Tezuka’s story.
