Tokonagesan Senjuji temple(独鈷抛山千手寺). It was founded in 807 by Kobodaishi/Kukai(弘法大師空海), whose movie for visiting Táng dynasty(唐)will appear soon. He is a grandmaster of Japanese Buddhism, calligrapher, engineer and is believed to possess mystical power. When he tried to visit Táng dynasty, the ocean got rough and he prayed to Buddhas. He prayed that if he safely visited China, he would make a statue of Buddha for celebrating the incident. After he visited China, he threw on the air toko(独鈷), a tool for Buddhism ceremony to show the place that is suitable for founding Vajrayana(密教)temple. The toko disappeared, and said to found in this place of current Tokonagesan Senjuji temple. He made a statue of thousand armed Avalokiteshwara(千手観音)and worshiped it in this place. The temple is now in Rinzaishu school(臨済宗)and said to be good for disease in eyes.
