The first is from Ise country and latter three goddesses are from Munakata(宗像)district in Fukuoka prefecture. This shrine was founded in 766 and is famous for praying for rain.

Taniyama-Hudoson(谷山不動尊). This Buddha figure carved on a rock face is said to have been made by Kobodaishi(弘法大師), a very famous monk and the founder of Japanese esoteric Buddhism. It is famous for its act as an amulet.
Jindoji Temple(神童寺)is located at the foot of Mt. Sanjosan. This temple is also famous for its act as an amulet. The temple is said to be founded in 596 by Shotoku Taishi(聖徳太子), a Japanese prince who introduced Buddhism to Japan. It is also linked to Ennnogyoja(役の行者), a famous shaman in Aska period. He came here between 675 and 676. The name ‘Jindo’ was originated from two jindos (sons/daughters of gods/goddesses), who appeared together with Zaogongen(蔵王権現), the master of shugendo(修験道)that is a highly syncretic religion. Here are a lot of Buddha statues as Japanese important cultural properties. I was amazed by Rāgarāja(愛染明王), who represents Tathāgata’s(如来) aspects in anger. It is unique because it casts an arrow towards heaven.
