Armenian history III

Armenian people were influenced mostly by Iranian people until CE3C. However, the tyranny by the Sassanian changed their mind and they acted independently from the rulers.

In CE16C, the Safaviyān rose and the conflicts between the Safaviyān and Ottoman Empire trifled with Armenian people. Šâh ʿAbbās-e Bozorg of the Safaviyān made Armenian people move to Azerbaijan and this remains a flash point of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan even now.

Armenian people invited Russia to solve the situations under Muslim. Peter the Great and Catherine the Great dealt with this matter and Russia was in battles with Iran. Thus Eastern Armenia was governed by Russia.

Ottoman Empire was also in battle with Russia and Ottoman Empire committed genocide against the Armenian people in CE1895-1896. The revolution in the empire in CE1908 changed the situation. However, another genocide occurred during the World War I.

In CE1918, Armenia became independent but invasions by Ottoman Empire forced it to lose Western Armenia. In CE1920, Wilson proposed the line of new Armenian region but Turkey refused the situation. In CE1921, Soviet began to rule over Armenia. In CE1991, Republic of Armenia became independent again but there remain several ethnic conflicts.

On the other hand, Armenian communities had significant roles on trading all over the world: Mughal Empire, Ethiopia with Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Egypt with Coptic Orthodox Church, Syria, Mesopotamia, Russia, Cyprus, Crimea, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Moldova, Czech Republic, Albania, Greece, Belgium, Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Persian Gulf States, Turkey, Iran, U.S.A., Canada, Transcaucasus, Balto, Central Asia etc.

In these senses, Armenia was on a crossroad of ethnic conflicts for long time and it reflects the history of the world. Many interesting matters are still observed in the history.
